BMC FootPrints Service Core API Overview

BMC FootPrints Service Core comes with two powerful programming interfaces to integrate your service desk with other critical applications in your organization:

• Database API—A fully documented set of commands for accessing the database directly. Create and update Issues, perform queries, import data, and perform other tasks from a batch job, Visual Basic script, or other application. This API is uniform for all versions of BMC FootPrints Service Core. 
• BMC FootPrints Service Core Web Services API—An XML/SOAP Web Services interface to BMC FootPrints Service Core is available for all platforms for integration with other applications. It supports .NET 1.1 and 2.0, Java, and Perl. Functions are available for creating Issues, updating Issues and querying the database.
