Field Mapping in Salesforce.com
CRM
Bridge can work with different field types in contact records in Salesforce.com,
but there are some considerations when using something other than a character
field:
- Character
fields—Most
built-in fields in Salesforce.com are character fields, which work well
with the BMC FootPrints Service Core CRM Bridge,
both in displaying the field value and searching the field.
- Integer
and float fields—Custom
integer and float fields in Salesforce.com map correctly for both displaying
and searching. You
must be careful that the FootPrints Service Core
field type matches the field type in Salesforce.com.
- Date fields—Date
fields should be created as character fields in . When
this is done, both display and search of these fields work correctly.
- Drop-down
fields—Drop-down
fields in the Salesforce.com contact list should be mapped to the equivalent
drop-down field in ,
with the same drop-down choices.
When a field is created in
for use by the CRM bridge, that field is available subsequently if the
Workspace is converted to using the
Address Book.
